The power of an invitation cannot be underestimated. In the context of a corporation, an invitation is the transfer of a small amount of decision-making authority to the individual. When this is done authentically (no repercussions for opting out), it sends an important signal that everyone has a part in writing the story of the organization’s future state. All employees who choose to opt in have a high degree of ownership in the outcome which naturally drives up engagement across the organization.
