Direct ExperienceIn the OSA method, a factual report and inspection of direct experience is valued over logical arguments, debates, and differences of opinion.

The reason is very simple: by the time we are done debating the relative merits of a given approach, we could have completed three or four experiments in it, and received a valuable harvest of direct experience.

During the 100 days between the two Open Space events, participants are encouraged to conduct as many experiments as possible, consistent with the goal of continuous learning and continuous improvement for the enterprise as a whole.

Direct experience is “unpacked” during periodic Open Space events. During these events, participants are encouraged to express what they want, think and feel about the use of Agile principles and related practices.
